Good Sleep Habits
1. Go to bed at the same time every night.
2. Avoid caffeine after 6:00 PM. (This includes chocolate.)
3. Do not eat a large meal just before going to bed. Do not go to bed hungry.
4. Regular exercise will help but not immediately. Give it time. Do not exercise too close to bedtime.
5. Take a warm bath. Water that is too hot will only stimulate you and keep you awake.
6. Alcohol can disrupt sleep. Avoid it at bedtime.
7. Deep breathing exercises will speed your relaxation.
8. Keep temperatures pleasantly cool.
9. If noise is a problem, investigate using a "white sound" device. These machines produce a neutral steady sound which can help obliterate outside noises.
