Dr. Martin Denbar - Biography

Martin A. Denbar, D.D.S.is a native Texan from Houston. He is a graduate of Bellaire High School and received his undergraduate education at the University of Houston. While at the University of Houston, he was a member of the National Biology Honor Society, International Premedical Honor Society, and PHI KAPPA PHI Honor Society. He received his dental training at the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston and graduated in 1975. After graduating he served in the United States Navy Dental Corps at Camp Pendleton, California and with the Third Marine Division in Okinawa, Japan. Since 1977 Dr. Denbar has been in private practice.

Dr. Denbar has a preventative, comprehensive and cosmetic outlook towards all of his treatment. He keeps up with continuing education so that the latest proven techniques are utilized for his patients.

In the arena of oral appliance therapy for the treatment of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea, Dr. Denbar has been very active since 1995. He has published, lectured nationally, developed The Original Silent Nightshirt™, and been heavily involved with the Travis County medical community in treating snoring and sleep apnea. Dr. Denbar has served on the Board of Directors of the Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and is one of five dentists in the state of Texas accredited by this organization in the use of oral appliances. He has treated more patients with oral appliance therapy than any other doctor in Central Texas and is a leader in this field on a national basis.

On a personal note, Dr. Denbar is a family man with a wife of 22 years and two children, a twenty-year-old son who attends Texas A&M University and a eighteen-year-old daughter. Dr. Denbar enjoys bass fishing or saltwater fishing at the beach. He and his wife are avid gardeners and have created a backyard habitat for wildlife. The Denbar Family values their time together and can often be found relaxing near the koi pond that they built themselves in their backyard.
